Summit to Sea
The Summit to Sea project is currently working with local people between the Dyfi River in the North and the Rheidol River in the South and inland to Llanidloes, exploring opportunities to develop ideas for collaborative land and sea management which will help nature and people thrive. By restoring nature and ecosystems across land ownership boundaries, the project seeks to solve some of our biggest environmental challenges including the impacts of climate change.
Since re-launching in June 2020, with RSPB Cymru hosting the project during this development phase, the project has been holding conversations through drop-in sessions and workshops across the area, with over 1000 people involved in the project’s development so far. The community has now designed a vision:
A nature rich and connected ecosystem from land to sea which will deliver benefits to wildlife and people today and for future generations, which celebrates the local place and cultures.
To help deliver this vision the project is now shaping and developing the ideas heard during the last 18 months to produce a strategic and inspiring plan of action with local people at its heart.
