Seagrass
Seagrass is the only flowering plant that grows in the marine environment and is one of the most important plants on Earth. Seagrass forms underwater meadows which provide food and shelter for a wide range of marine animals, from tiny invertebrates to large fish, crabs, starfish, marine slugs, seahorses, turtles, marine mammals, and birds. Seagrass also benefits people in many ways. Seagrass meadows are fragile ecosystems and are being lost due to human impacts.
